We believe in capturing the essence of a moment and giving you something that makes your soul smile. We believe in art that awakens within you a connection to a stillness that, for a brief moment, causes the rest of the world to fall away.
Studio 221 was founded by two visionary photographers - Mike Svach and Joe Bayer. Honing their craft for a number of years separately, they joined forces in 2012 and began a journey that would culminate in the creation of Studio 221. They recently expanded the studio by bringing on two more photographers - Ken Helmes and Albert Adkins. These four craftsmen oversee every step of the artistic process, from the snap of the shutter that captures the image to the final print off of one of their large format printers.
What inspires you? What causes you to lift your head off the pillow, grab a cup of coffee and head out into the world? What makes you tick?
For the photographers of Studio 221 the answer is quite simple. It’s the sun, just peeking over the horizon and painting the underside of the textured clouds a soft, pastel color which reflects off a lake. It’s the staggered domino pinnacles of a city skyline backed by the deep, royal blue of a dusk sky. It’s the rushing water of a stream cutting its way through the autumn trees and cascading over jutting rocks with a powerful crash. These are the things that excite within us a need to create. A need to capture that moment and enhance it to the point that the viewer can get a visceral feel of what it must have been like to stand at that spot for that instant.
At Studio 221 our passion is to present the raw, natural beauty of the world in ways that inspire you and everyone you know.
Thank you for supporting us in our passion.
